Participant introductions included reference to health and wellness problems including exercise and fitness, stress, panic attacks, anxiety, weight loss, Lyme Disease and peripheral neuropathy, sleep and caffeine addiction, and children's nutrition and emotion. Feedback included a spin-off group for fitness activities (members will contact each other) and reminders about the Caring and Resource Committees.

The group met in the classroom at 11:50 after the Pet Blessing Service by Rev. Amy Russell.
Six congregants attended with Gwen Stamper leading the group. As suggested by the focus group, the concentration this month was on weight loss and exercise. The agenda included:
     Sign in and healthful snacks
     Chalice lighting and affirmation of our principle to respect the inherent worth and dignity of         every person by supporting each other in our efforts to lose weight and increase exercise.
     Sharing updates on weight loss and fitness over the past month.
     Suggestions for establishment of a weekly fitness activity to be started by Lea Sekely. The first         session will be a walk at Sugarloaf House after services August 29, 2004. Another of Lea’s         suggestions was to have exercise sessions with exercise videotapes.
     Suggestions by Gwen Stamper about the CDC website and references on physiology and         exercise; discussions about obesity, weight gain, body composition, optimal weight loss, and         effects of exercise and weight loss
     Extinguishing of the chalice and affirmation of the principle and that we will support each other         with emails and phone calls as necessary as well as participation in the fitness group.
     Planning for social marketing (email the minutes, website information and newsletter         information) about the support group and new weekly fitness activity.
